We all have a crazy ex, right?

Well, she's here. Tonight.

Dogged, drunk and self-destructing, she's declaring open war at an open mic.

And she has a lot to say.

Don't they fucking all?

An award-winning performance that “will likely emotionally eviscerate you”, BITCH is all bark and all bite.

“in an exonerating contest of power and gender, bitch dramatises the precise moment a joke stops being funny.

Breen makes a craft of the cusp, the punchline is her tightrope, and each scene is suspended over a gap in the world only we seem to see or understand. It is a work of rage, fear and compassion… all-important and empowering."

"If you don’t pick up on the subtleties in BITCH early on, it’ll likely tear your soul out. Even if you do Marty Breen’s one person, musical monologue is likely to emotionally eviscerate you.

the hairs on the back of your neck rise as Breen bears their soul. Bold, brave, and oft times brilliant, Bitch is a blisteringly breathtaking experience. But Breen is even better. Not to be missed."

"Each character is portrayed by writer/composer/performer/genius Marty Breen, who delivers an agonizing, savage, and consistently charismatic performance.

This production was very hard to watch, and even harder to put into words. But often when something is hard, it is important. BITCH is an important, affecting, and ultimately hopeful piece of theatre that will undoubtedly live in my mind for a long time to come."

"BITCH is a one-person show that will tear your heart out without you even knowing it.

It is hard to surmise Breen’s creation into a genre or synopsis as it is never put on a plate (or dog bowl) for the audience. Marty Breen’s show is a meticulously crafted piece of theatre with fully realised yet obscured characters that will draw you into their worlds; before coming together in genuinely surprising and shocking ways. The highlight really is the original songs, full of wit and sadness. Breen’s musicality is something that is rare, their Wicklow accent buried amongst a melee of influences and allusions from Liza Minelli in Cabaret and Victoria Wood, to the anguished trill of Dolores O’Riordan. Breen must be one of the most committed and acerbic performers at this year’s festival."

Seamless and thrilling… Breen’s vocal prowess is extraordinary: a compelling blend of Fiona Apple’s raw passion and Liza Minnelli’s commanding cabaret flair. Marty Breen delivers a powerful performance in this captivating solo show, immediately establishing an atmosphere of unpredictable energy.

Bitch is a meticulously crafted and potent fusion of cabaret, drag, stand-up and theatre, tackling difficult subjects with a dark, electrifying and unforgettable verve.  Breen puts on a masterclass in emotional storytelling, wrecking you in the best way to impart a message you won’t forget.”
